I TRIED THE HEGAI AND ESTHER PHOTO PERFECT FOUNDATION AND HERE'S WHAT I THINK...

Lifestyle

Hey guys, so it's been a day.. Or three since i last published a post and it's simple because I'm giving y'all time to digest all the amazing posts already published.. Lol. Today, I'm reviewing the hegai and esther foundation.

I got it when i went makeup shopping some weeks back together with their brow pomade which you can read about by clicking Here.

As expected, it's a Nigerian brand, and it's the first ever Nigerian brand foundation that I'm trying, i mean, there are a number of foundations by Nigerian brands but I've just never gotten around giving them a try.. Until the hegai and esther one came along.. So here's what i think..

foundation

Price

4500

Description on site

Photo perfect foundation.

Where to buy

You can buy directly from their site Here. Or try any local cosmetic store near you. You can also check out their instagram Here to check for distributors near you. (you're welcome)

Packaging

This part, am not impressed. I'm not disappointed but I'm not impressed either, the bottle is pretty basic, tempered glass.. Plastic cover.. A pump. I would have felt better if it came with an airless pump, but, oh well...

foundation

Shades

Comes in eight shades, and they are all for brown skin (yas! Melanie only) The shades have cute names which are " Biscuit" "carrot" "mango" "cookie" "bronze" "coffee" "brownie" "cocoa" From lightest to darkest. My shade is mango which is the third to lightest.

foundation

Formula and swatch

Well, its thick, that much is visible, very creamy, applies wet and settles into a matte finish. It blends like a dream too (and my favorite part) it doesn't settle into fine lines (as long as you set it well) The coverage is totally build able, more product, more coverage. I get really good coverage with just two pumps and full coverage with three full pumps.

It does have a light scent to it, for those that may want to take note.

Conclusion

I love this foundation, am sorry but hegai and esther have just won my heart and I'm going to be stocking up on all their products like a mad woman, this foundation exceeded my expectations, like seriously, i don't want to say much, but if you are looking to buy a new bottle of foundation any time soon, consider this foundation, oily skin? Consider this foundation, for the price! Oh and added bonus? It's got spf 20. Spf!! Like beauty products with spf just shows how sensible the manufacturers are! Remember when we talked about the importance of spf in this post! It's the bomb, since i got it, i find my self reaching out for it more times now, i hardly even remember that i have six other foundations. The hegai and esther foundation is a cheaper substitute for my nars sheer glow foundation and i have to say, I'm very happy i don't need to spend tens of thousands of naira to get the kind of converage i deserve.

I'm thinking of trying this; I hope I don't regret it if I do. I have extremely oily skin; very oily and very sensitive, so I'm usually scared of making changes to my makeup kit. Thanks for the review, I might just give it a try.

Hi, Salmah. Your review is accurate. I started using this foundation since 2016 and I've enjoyed it so far. However, it now comes in plastic as opposed to bottle and volume has increased by 10ml. My concern is that the ingredients have drastically been altered. From 18 to 15 ingredients and about 14 of the initial 18 ingredients in the former bottle have been discarded. Not only that, only 3 ingredients from the former bottle was retained. I'm wondering if the texture would be the same. I'm also worried about my skin. Why the changes in ingredients if the product was 'perfect'. Now, I'm also worried about long term use. Please update your review. Thank you
