IS THE HOUSE OF TARA MATTIFYING PRIMER REALLY ALL THAT YOU HOPE FOR?

Beauty

So, another Nigerian brand. In fact, this is not just another Nigerian brand, it is a top dog. You can't hear anyone listing five worth mentioning Nigerian cosmetic brand and you won't hear house of tara. I have tried a fair share of their products before, so when i saw their store at the jabi lake mall, i just had to go inside... And y'all know we can't go into a makeup store and come out empty handed, so as per norm, I came out with a couple things and amongst them, the mattifying primer... So let's get to it..

Description from site

Another best seller, specially formulated to extend wear of your makeup.

Where to buy

I can speak for Abuja people and say either of their walk in make up studios, the ones i know of are in banex and jabi lake mall.

Or you can buy online directly from their site here

Price

4000

Packaging

The packaging has got to be my favorite aspect of this product. So sleek, its oozing minimalist vibe, its a clear acrylic bottle with a plastic black cover. The name is written in black and bold fonts on the body of the bottle.

There is also an airless pump, which in my opinion all liquid products in a bottle should posses.. It makes application of the product so much more easier and controls quantity of product used.

primer

Shades

It comes in only one shade which is clear and transparent, it is also completely odorless.

Formula

The formula of this stuff is quite confusing, it's definitely not silicone based, or water based for that matter, it has a tacky jelly feel to it so i think it's safe to say it's a gel like formula, it's got this really strange feel on my face when applied, but after a while, it just settles and feels normal.

Other stuffs to note

This product apparently is oil free. And mattifying. But is it? Is it really? Well,  i supposed it depends on your skin type. I have got really really oily skin, infact my oiliness(if there is such a thing) is on a 100. I used this primer with my hegai and esther foundation, makeup forever hd foundation and black opal stick foundation, didn't note any difference, i get oily really quick so this primer didn't really do it for me, maybe it's cause i expected too much, i had serious high expectations for this primer because house of tara is one of my favorite brands and it's a Nigerian brand for Nigerian people. I mean, they know how the weather in Nigeria is on an extra, so i expected an extra effort but nonetheless...enough said.

primer

Will i buy it again? Is it all that you could hope for?

Me? Probably not. As for the bottle i already had, I'll be using it on cold and rainy days when i don't get super oily super fast.

Check out my foundation review Here.

Note that I've heard wonders about this primer from people with combination to dry skin, so if that's your skin type, then yeah, totally buy this. But if you are like me? Then you want to get something a little bit more.. Um.. Mattifying.

Let's interact...

Have you tried the house of tara primer? Did you love it? What other house of tara products have you tried?

For oily facers like me, matte is a favorite word when it comes to putting anything on my face. I don't even use a primer yet but I should get one soon. I love the bottle and packaging. Is it like a gel?
