MODEST WORK WEAR FOR THE URBAN WOMAN
Lifestyle
I got a new job! Yay me! Not like am leaving the old one o, guys you know am an entrepreneur at heart, but a girl's gotta survive. And that means, work for now. My previous job was a great job and one of the many benefits was that I could wear whatever shit I liked! It's different now, my new job is a bit more formal and looking the part is a big part of the job. Naturally I'm in need of some new clothes for work. And my motto to finding new pieces for work is 'modest and stylish.' Y'all know I still like to keep it hot! When Haleema of leemlarh brought some pieces from an upcoming designer, Hanifa, I almost died from joy.
They were everything i wanted. This right here is my style, this should be everyone's style. The pieces that Hanifa makes are so unique and so beautiful. The fabrics, OMG.. Don't get me started on the fabrics, Even my mom loved them. And she is very hard to please. These clothes fit like they were made for my body, like I was in her mind when she was making them, Well guys, now that I got me a new job and a new designer, be ready, y'all are going to be seeing loads of work wears inspiration, I think I should start a series on that!
Onto this particular outfit, it's everything, it fits me to the T. I was not going anywhere when I took these photos, but this is definitely what am wearing to work on Monday, a bomb way to create a lasting impression on my first day right? I styled it in two different ways, and I need you guys to help me choose.
First the usual, tucked in and snug. One could always throw on a belt to make the waist look cinched or just leave it be, the way I did here. I love love this, it oozes confidence, elegance and all sorts of modest sexiness. Lol. Is that even a thing? I decided to tie my scarf to keep the whole look prim and proper. This is totally a Monday look.
Next, I let loose a few buttons and un-tucked it, this style is particularly great for all my more modest sisters that prefer to have their blouses below the bum always. This is also a great way to wear the shirt with pants instead. For me this is definitely a look I'd go for when I'm feeling quirky or in need of extra comfort. Especially when I've eaten pounded yam, and my stomach refuses to let me be great, this is definitely the look I'd turn to help hide my secret.
